Hi

In our work with AutoCAD, we do put different walls on different layers, interior walls on A-intwalls and Ext walls on A-extwalls for example. How do i tell Revit what layer to export a particular wall/wall component to? in object styles, i can add a new subcategory for a wall, but how do i use that sub category?( assign to a wall/wall layer for export?)

Help!!

thanks

Winn

Take a look at the menu File / Import/Export Settings.

First, make sure to set your wall's type property "Wall Function" correctly. Then as Andrew suggested, map the correct wall to your final layer in the import/export settings.

EDIT: The subcategories are used for in-place walls and sweeps.

For our masonry and prefab wall plans, we actually have to draw them as separate walls. Using physical layer function as object style (for floors and roofs too) would be absolutely superb IMO.
