opening change representation with phases

I have an opening that looks fine when its new cosntruction (hidden line on the overhead)
but as soon i change the phase to existing looks solid. how do i control that?

You need to look at the phase filter and the filter settings.

There is a tutorial on phases which walks you through this, if I remember.
