Has anyone ever lost their project browser for no reason at all?
I was in the process of setting up a new model and all of the sudden the project browser dissappeared... The icon says its on and the keyboard shortcut has no effect. The browser is visible in new projects but when I toggle to the project in question the browser still displays the previous files contents???
I attempted to recover from backup files but even the backup files have this error even though they existed hours before it started.
For this particular project I am not too concerned as I can copy/past into a new project. If this were to ever occur during a project that is near completion it would be devastating!!

I will attach the file if anyone has any spare time let me know if the browser is visible for you or if you have a method to bring it back.

You can find your project browser icon next to that big ?mark with a arrow icon. It looks like a family-tree structure. Click on it and the browser will open.

Hope this helps.

It could have been undocked and moved - or perhaps just closed accidentally. See attached image. Is the Project Browser field checked?

I was thinking it was possbily undocked and moved but even upon opening a new session of Revit it does not appear. (it does in all other projects though)
The icon for the project browser is on and I can not turn it off. I attached the file to my first post where this occurs.

I will try it on my home machine and see if I get the same result.

Well I tried the project on my personal machine and have the same issue. No browser to be found anywhere. This is a disasterous problem if it cant be resolved. I can foresee the project making its way towards completion and then crash no more project browser...which means no more project.

You may probably want to contact Autodesk support and see what they can do to help. The file may have corrupted somehow and may need to be recovered.

We had a proplem like this in AutoCAD and someone was running dual monitors and then changed back to a single and the dialog got stuck on the second monitor than got closed down and we had to put it back into dual monitor mode to fine it.

Just an idea.

I have not been using dual monitors but I do see how that could have a similar effect.
I am in the process of creating a support request, however in order to send a support request through RS2008 it prompts you for an account. (see my other post)

After setting up numerous accounts today none are recognized. I am hoping there is just a 24 activation or something and that their response is not just "we couldn't duplicate the error so we gave up".

There seems to be a lot of hoops to jump through just to get a straight answer
