I recently noted this driver on my HP nx9420 laptop's page... it's for the ATI X1600 and it's sister card the firegl V5200

I can now enable opengl accel in revit (overlay planes have to be disabled by default in vista) and i have NO artifacts... the speed is amazing :D

Here is what you have to do (make sure you have the latest Revit build... SP2)

1. download this driver from HP ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36486.exe

it's page is here http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=1839153&prodNameId=1839212&swEnvOID=2103&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-53257-1

IF your card is not listed then try DHmodtool to mod it.

2. Disable Desktop Composition while running Revit. See the picture below on how to do it. Right Click on the Shortcut -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Check "Disable Desktop Composition". This will temporarely disable Aero while running Revit (just like 3ds max does in vista 64 by default)

3. When you start Revit in Settings -> Options -> Graphics enable Opengl acceleration and disable Overlay planes.

ENJOY... I AM :D
