Changing Door Frame Types in Groups

Hi Group,

We're having a bit of difficulty with a door schedule - we need to change the frame types of numerous doors, but they are in groups. So, when we try, that drasted dialogue box comes up "changes cannot be made to the group......etc" Anybody have an idea of how to work around this? There are probably 20-30 some groups (suites in an apartment) and we do not want to break them all apart just for this.

No worries, got a work around. We removed all the doors from the groups, and that enabled the changes. Also, to our happiness it did not affect the door numbering that we had painstakingly set-up using the door schedule.

...and you added the door back to the group, and everything's OK?

We never include doors in groups for that reason only. When you copy the groups around as long as you don't use place group all the hosted elements (doors & windows) come to. But yes the problem being if one changes you have to re-position all the doors and windows if its changed.

you can't add it back to the group otherwise you will end up with multiple instance of doors in the same place unless you remove all of the doors by the primary one...
