Custom Lines & Text

I am wondering if it is possible to add text to line patterns. I am trying to add text to show the Gauss lines for an NMR in both plan & elevation. It would be very helpful to have the 1 Gauss line & the 5 Gauss line easily understood. It would like it to look like the hot water & cold water lines in AutoCad. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
