I'm running along the ridge using the cut geometry tool to get a plum cut TJI.Out of a long series of Tji's in a beam system I hit one that 'holds back' from the ridge. This is actually the look I'd perfer in plan view btw... Looking into it further I see that it and it alone has a "Beam End Pocket Seat" option within the properties of it.

1 - Where did this option come from? Can I enable this within the other TJI's?

2 - Is there another way I can get a plum cut TJI without using the Cut Geometry Tool?

3 - Using the cut geometry tool I'm going to end up with Two TJI's that end at the same location in plan view. They will then look like one continuous member. Is there a way in plan to force a gap between them. I'm thinking that the "Beam End Pocket Seat" option would give me the display I want in both views just don't know how to give myself that option.

Its just odd to me that this one tji is different then the others.

Well I figure out how to get the option. It turns out that I had dragged the end of it to the CMU wall on the other side. If you look at the screen shot you can see the end dot on the wall.

So is there a way to make my 'cut' members appear held back in plan view but in reality butt up with each other?

Have you tried the little blue arrow/grips? If your beams are sloped you may only be able to access them in sections or elevations.

True we could unpin the member and then with the arrows drag it past the to intersect the member and then cut the geometry with the ref plan as the cutting member.

Got to be another way with nothing getting broken when flexing the truss height.
