View Full Version : Weird Material Tag Behavior

I'm using material tags on elevations in a DD set. I've used this tag many times before with no problems. However, now when I tag a material a ? appears until I move the leader end around, then the material description shows up. <Edit: Moving any part of the tag makes the description show up - even nudging the entire tag over a bit.> I tried it with both a custom tag and the OOTB tag and had the same problem. Then I started a new project and the tag worked fine. Any ideas?

does this only happen in that one project?

Yeah, it's only in this one project, and I've further discovered that it's only in specific views. It seems to work in partial less complex elevation views, but not in the full elevations. I'm thinking it has something to do with the complexity of the views.

sorry to drag this out of the dim past
this was the closest that came up in a search

yes that is happening to me too
however quickly checking back to Revit while reading the replies, confirms that there seems to be a dependency on the Model View type ( coarse/med/fine )

I hve yet to come up with a predictable schema, but you have to set the view type to how it will finally be printed off at before placing the tag. However the manual says to have the text in the description tab of the material preset as a time saver - however various behaviours don't entirely line up with that advice

has anyone sorted this out? so that we don't have to do double and triple takes all the time?
