Is there a standard for room numbering? What method does your office use to number rooms?

Tends to include floor and unit number, if residential, or just floor and room number, so conventions in a block of flats would be R0.3.2 for room 2 in flat 3 on the ground floor. or R2.4 for room 4 on the second floor in any other circumstance. We number from top left in clockwise fashion, unless there is a compelling reason to do otherwise, such as a U shaped plan which would number around the U from the most obvious place at left of plan.

For Commercial: 101, 102, 103 etc...
For multi-family: G1.101 Where G is the building type and 1 is the unit number.
