I am establishing footing locations. I notice that my plan cut ( plan cut is about a foot off the bottom of the wall at the stairs) is displaying the wall (short wall at stair) as if the plan cut were cut above the wall. I have checked and i have no plan regions and i have changed the view cut. Any suggestions as to what i have missed. And i checked the cut pattern, it is set correctly.

What is the height of the stairs and surrounding walls? Are they less then the cut range of 4'? If so you are going to be viewing the top of the wall. Is this a sweep that is part of a vertically compund wall (a wall with the sweep internally in the wall type) or is this a sweep you placed on top of the wall using a Hosted Sweep from the Modeling tab on teh Design Bar?
In the 3D view PDF the coping or cap brick on top of the wall is mitered at the corners, but in the plan view it shows abutted. Post Revit file to help us understand what is going on. Have you tried turning off the hatch patterns in the walls in question and placing a region fill to express any hatch patterns you would like to see?
