Multiple Undo Dealio

Anyone mind laying out for me the dealio with Multiple Undo's? How far can you go back, and/or is there a system variable to control how many commands one can go back (a la Adobe)?

you can go back to the beginning of the revit session. however in a worksets job they reset when the central file is accessed to change editable ws's.
