I have recently setup a dst and a dwt template for company use and am currently putting together a cheat sheet as well as preparing for a seminar to show others how to incorporate these into their projects. Currently we are using LDT 2007, but will be updating to 2008 in the next month or two. Anyhow, I have read that there may be some issues with SSM with the introduction of 2008 and maybe even particular to the civil arena. I was curious if any of these have been resolved? Would be quite the embarresment to put all of this time and whatnot and not know how to deal with upcoming issues. If they have not been resolved, what are the signs to look for or what has ben reported? We will be using SSM and fields with our template and projects. If these issues have not been addressed and fixed in a patch, anyone know when ADesk may approach it and resolve it? Not sure that I can understand how such a company can go backwards with a good feature that once worked well, even if trying to add new bugs/features......
What issues are you referring to? There have been a few enhancements in 2008 to the SSM.
We have used SSM with few problems since 2006. We do not use any of the verticals and probably not all of the functionality of the SSM.

In the couple of threads I read in the NG, none of the issues were specific. We do use a vertical platform, LDT. Only thing I see in v2007 is the open and SDI variable with LDT functionality, but that can be rather minor.
Speaking of which, do any of you know of the enhancements provided by v2008?
Thanks much.
Are you referring to the enhancements to SSM for 2008?

We use LDT 2008 and a little C3D 2008. The SSM works just fine. The actually enhanced it a little bit with the ability to drag layout tabs directly to the SSM.
The problem that we have seen in 2008 is related to the PUBLISH command. SInce Publish and SSM are so closely linked some people may be refering to the Publish problem as a SSM problem.

The only problem we are seeing is that we have several Sheet Sets set up in 2006.
When opened in 2008, the "Insert Sheet List Table" is either not available, or it does nothing when clicked. (Yes, we have a sheet from the set open....)
We have not tested every single 2006 Sheet Set, but we have noticed this on several so far.
For Sheet Sets created in 2008, there has been no problem with this.

Have the older sheet sets been locked? For some reason, AutoCAD is creating a lock file for these older sets when mixed versions of CAD are used to open it.
