I am having a problem with my graphic column schedule not showing all of the columns.
I also have some columns that start as concrete columns for the first floor and then transition to steel columns. Only the concrete columns are showing in the schedule, and not even all of those. Any ideas??

Make sure all of the columns are attached to grid intersections and that the grids extents are above and below the extents of the columns. Only columns attached to grid intersections will display in the graphical column schedule.

Thanks Paul. Is there any sure way to check that the columns are on the grids?
Visually the seem to be.

Aside from incorrect initial placement due to a bad snap etc. or the column being accidentally moved slightly off the intersection we've found a couple other things that could be an issue.
When columns are added to groups you will receive a warning and the column will be detached from the grid due to inconsistent group membership.
With some of the early analytical links we ran into the issue of columns not being properly attached to the grids when the initial Revit model was generated by the analytical link. I believe this was a dimensional tolerance or sequencing issue and I believe has been fixed.
Grid extents can also play a factor in whether or not the column will show in the schedule.
All that being said there are several techniques that can be used to graphically check which columns are not displaying in the schedule.
Quick Method:
1. Generate a Graphical Column Schedule
2. Window Select all of the Columns in the Schedule
3. Go to any plan, elevation, or 3D view you wish to interrogate.
4. Upon entering the view all of the columns currently in the Schedule will be highlighted due to the selection. Additionally you can use the Temporary Hide/Isolate Tool > Hide Element. Now the only columns remaining in the view are columns that are not currently displaying in Schedule.
5. After you repair the columns (typically by using the move and/or align tools to locate the columns exactly on the intersection) you can reset the Temporary Hide/Isolate Tool and repeat the process if necessary.
Slightly Longer but more Powerful Method:
1. Generate a Graphical Column Schedule
2. Window Select all of the Columns in the Schedule
3. Go to the element properties of the selected columns and type "Scheduled" for the value of the Comments Parameter.
4. Generate a Defined by Criteria Filter leveraging the Comments value. For example: Filter Name: Scheduled, Categories: Structural Columns, Filter Rules: Filter by: Comments > Contains > Scheduled. While you're at it make a Not Scheduled Filter: Filter Name: Not Scheduled, Categories: Structural Columns, Filter Rules: Filter by: Comments > Does Not Contain > Scheduled.
5. Now you can add these Filters to any view and easily control the visibility of the scheduled or non-scheduled columns and/or override their graphics.
6. As columns are fixed and/or added to the project simply select all the columns in the Graphical Column Schedule view and once again type "Scheduled" for the value of the Instance Comments and the Filters will be updated.
One final visual cue that can be used to check a specific column in question is to select it in plan. If it displays one or more temporary dimensions to the grid lines it is supposed to be centered on it is not located correctly. See attached image.

Thanks again Paul, I will try that second method you describe. That seems like a more usable fix. I have been using the third method that you show, picking each column and checking the dimensions. I caught a few that were off, but the rest were good and they still did not show up in the schedule. I started this model in Revit, but then exported it into RAM. The engineer tweaked the desgn and then I re-imported into Revit. I wonder if that could be causing some of the difficulties???
Thank again,
Tim

Hi, Im also having difficulties with a graphical column schedule, we have raking columns that attach to the top of a tranfer Blade column, None of the raking columns will show in the schedule... Im wondering if it is because the top of the column has a different offset to the base of the column? therefore confusing the poor dear thing... Any ideas would be appreciated

sloped columns do not work with graphic column schedule, we need to add this to the wish list for future release. Also the graphic column schedule looks to the north, so any column sloping in the north/south direction the slope would not show.
