Does anyone know how to do a point by point illuminance calculation drawing?
We have to do them for our planning department. I had a lighting company do one for me once (see attached), but I'd like to use lights from diffrent manufacturers on another job.

There are various programs you can use, each with different issues importing a Revit model (via dxf, or gbXML). Some that come to mind right away are IES, Ecotect, and Lumen Designer. I've used Lumen Designer successfully to do this several times but it takes a lot of cleanup to bring in a Revit model.

In Revit MEP 2009, which is upcoming, we've implemented a workflow to facilitate this based on your Revit model. We created added Lighting Fixture information to the existing data stream that we already send to the IES <VE>.

We only export light fixtures with IES data file-based lighting fixtures (no association between that IES and the Integrated Environmental Solutions <Virtual Environment>). With the implementation of MentalRay rendering in 2009, any Light Fixture can have it's Light Source Definition associated with an IES data file.

This allows for point-by-point analysis within the IES <VE> with minimal additional input to the Analytical Model produced by Revit.

For (very) serious light analysis, you should try dialux.
You can check it's features and download it at http://www.dial.de/
And on top of it... it's free!

Two others you can consider: neither have an integrated workflow with Revit...yet.
