Please note I am moving this from New Forum User (a non-technical forum) to the Revit Architecture General forum.

Welcome to the Forum! While its not a popular answer, the way i tackle this is to open up multiple sessions of Revit. Opening the linked files in one session will unload them from the first file that youre working in (the one WITH the links), so what i tend to do is:

Keep the Paretn project open in one Session.

Use a second session to open the links and alter materials.

Then, hit the save button, go back to the Parent project, and reload it...

the linked revit model did sign up materials. and when i open the "material" drop down menu, the components were all there and with right material (for accurender). however, when i run accurender, most of signed materials for linked model didn't show right, instead, all components show gray color. why?
