Seems as though I'm dealing with this frustration as well. I've done a bit of searching and experimenting. I tried Scott's method here
http://forums.augi.com/showpost.php?p=689604&postcount=46
on a small model. and when I open the new file after step 5 it is in the un-mirrored state. So this absolutely doesn't seem to work or I'm doing something wrong, let alone it takes forever for a pc to process and complete on a 50 meg file with binding and saving the group. I think there is something to this post http://forums.augi.com/showpost.php?p=689973&postcount=52, but being I can't seem to get linked file data to export to ODBC it's not going to satisfy my needs either.
So I've come to the conclustion that the following is the only thing that will work for us and seems to be the most straight forward way of teaching someone to do the same:
is to select everything in each view including sections, elevations, etc.
go to a plan view
filter out levels (they can't be mirrored in plan)
mirror the project (depending your project and selection you will get errors about deleting elements and removing constraints).
save immediately.
swap out handed objects (if applicable)Yes this might be painful with 200 views (we're only doing residential) but I think I'd still appoach it this way if I did have 200 as I can still use the ODBC output and most important I don't have to setup all my views and details again.
