line weights

I have brought some detail components into a building section. I was trying to keep it simple (and have the wall sections and detail sections cary the day interms of info). I did want some block and stone (large pieces) alond with some cut 2x platesat my bearing points. They plot very heavy, is there any way to remedy this? Perhaps it is just better to only have detail components in wall sections.

I have a new plotter (brand new) so i want to get familiar with lineweight issues. I notice there are 16 but when i draw someting (detail line, filled region etc.) i am only given a few to select from : Medium, thin. thick. Anyway to include additional lineweights in the pulldown menu for sketching?

Pulldown : Settings>Line Styles

Click new.
