Hi

Could someone help me on this? if i use curtain systems by face to define a curtain wall on a mass, can i change the panel type on this system?

I tried to replace the default panel with a custom panel, but Revit says it cant do it. Is there something wrong with the procedure?

On this particular project, we were hoping to have a curtain wall panel 3X4m, with the lower 1 meter in solid/metal. We were also looking at adding custom mullions to the panel. Once created, we can use this panel in a curtain wall created with the wall command, not with the wall by face command!

Please help!

Hi

Yes, you should be able to change the panel type on a curtain system placed on a mass (either by individual panels or globally for the curtain system type).

We have had problems before where the custom panel family would not flex small enough to fit the actual panel size.

What error message is Revit giving you? Can you post the curtain panel family?

You might find that the error you are getting has to do with irregular shaped panels. Unless the panel is rectangular you can't use anything but a 'system' panel.
You might want to consider using a wall as infill if that works.

Hello there,

thanks for the replies. I was offline for a while and hence the delay.

Dimitri, how can i use a custom panel on a curtain wall on a mass? Is there a way to have triangular grids on a curving surface?

Revitator, as far i have tried, i cant change the curtain panel type to non system.

thanks a lot
