I'm doing shop drawings for a ceiling contractor. The architect has drawn a curving corridor that has a 6' wide accoustic tile inset down the center of it. The inset shows a 4' wide tile flanked by a 12" piece snaking down the center of it. Can ADT's ceiling grid be adapted to lay this configuration out?
TIA,

This little tip from the Knowledge Base suggests a possible solution:
Did you know that you could convert hatch patterns to ceiling grids? Simply right-click on the Ceiling Grid tool and choose: Apply Tool Properties to > Linework. When prompted, select the hatch pattern. To view the ceiling grid, make sure that you are in a Reflected Ceiling Plan display
What this suggests, is that if you can create this 'grid' as a hatch pattern
with Super Hatch, then it could be converted into a proper ADT ceiling grid
element. I couldn't test this as I have 3.3 and this is for 2004.

Thanks Mike, but one of my staff came up with the following:
Drag "Layout Grid 2D" into you drawing,
Prior to placing it, select "properties"
Under "Shape" change "rectangular" to "radial"
Now place the it on the radius point of the shape you are trying to fill.
While highlighted, go back to properties
Change the angle to the proper angle of your shape
Change "X-Width" to the outside radius of the object
Under "X-Axis", change the inside radius to the correct number and change the bay size to the X dimension of the tile.
Under "Y Axis" you'll have to do a bit of math to come up with the correct bay angle to produce a 24" tile at the outer radius. Place this number in the "Bay Angle"
There are other variables to play with (such as the angle of rotation), but I'll leave that to you.
Hope this helps others.
