I have a multi-slope slab done with the new slab tool on RA 2008. The tool works great but what I need is to have a flat bottom slab with the top with the multi-slopes is that possible?
thanks

Yes. Just go into the properties of your floor and set the layers thickness to be variable rather than fixed.
Thanks Mr Spot, I needed that too. Unfortunately I can`t get it to work. Neither with the floor nor the roof element. I went in to the proporties and changed the structure. Winged on "variable" (all the way right). I had to give the structure a thickness and the roof/floor follows the thickness. I can`t pull the buttom down.
Can you explain it a little more detailed?

Hi Anne,
It sounds as though you're doing the right things. Here are two screenshots showing the 'variable' tickbox and the resulting floor having a variable-thickness layer.
I wonder why you say 'I can't pull the bottom down'? You shouldn't have to. Using the new R2008 multi-slope slab tools with the variable-thickness layer, the bottom of the slab should stay flat all by itself.
Might you be using slope arrows or slope-defining edges to slope the slab?
thanks Mr. Reviator ;-)
I now unmarked the "define slopes" at it works with the new tool bar. Perfect!
Anne
