model fill pattern

I am not sure how to create model fill patterns for 12x12 "staggered tiles". There's an existing one but they are 8x8. Anyone knows how to edit these to make them into 12x12 stagered?

Easiest way is to find the PAT file that created the 8x8, copy the line(s) for it, rename that line to 12x12 and just change the information from 8 to 12.

Sorry but can you please tell me what software to use to be able to open the pat file? I tried revit and acad but it says drawing cannot abe found

Pat files should be opened with Notepad.

Hey there,
Another method is to just make a new model pattern. Open "patterns" click "new" and then select you options, give it a name and.....voila! (You can also edit an existing one this way too.)

Navigate to the "Add Surface Pattern" panel as shown.

Import revit.pat, click on the 8x8 block, scale it by 1.5 and give the new pattern a new name.

Revit imposes limits on the scale that can be applied.
