I am encountering some problems when rendering with autocad 07. I am trying to get the best quality and resolution possible, however when I increase the output size to anything over 2048x1536 at 1000 dpi for a TIF file, the rendering block starts to skip spots and leaves black holes in the image. See attached file for sample image. Any idea how I can increase resolution and quality but not have this happen? Render time isn't important because I can leave it overnight. Just looking for some ideas, even if it's to get a better graphics card or more memory.
This is what my Tuner Log says if it's of any help...I don't know much of what it says.

In AutoCAD I recommed these advanced render settings:
Shadows
Mode: Simple
Shadow map: Off
Ray Tracing
Max depth: 5
Max relections: 5
Max refraction: 5
Furthermore, I would recommed more memory on the graphics card, 256 mb for big rendering jobs at 2048 resolution. But try first with the above settings.
Another thing you should do: Correct the settings in the dialog box called: "Adaptive degradation and performance tuning". You find it in the options menu. Click System > Performance Settings.
Adaptive degradation should be checked ON. Degrade when FPS is set below: 5.
Now you click Manual Tune. Next click the box "enable hardware acceleration". Finally you click: "Reset to Recommeded Values". Keep pressing OK, until you are out of all menus.

I have a similar problem, but want shodows in my renders.
I am using a fast up to date Nvidia based graphics card.... but too new to be on any Autodesk lists.......(come on Autodesk!)
ACAD seems to automatically down grade drafting graphics with non certified cards even though my card is more that capable, its allot smoother and more acurate using hardware acceleration....
Is is similar with the above and I have missed some option, or is it a feature not included in non top end workstation graphics cards?
And are shadows all graphics card ability based and not within the program itself anymore for rendering purposes?
I may go back to 2006, I have no problems with raytracing and shadow maps within that version and no end of trouble with 07......
Its a shame because the materials options and fetures are very much improved........

I think to solve this problem to check your rendering advanced setting.First to produce your high rendering output to test with autocad 2008 sample file.If this test is ok, you can refer rendering advanced setting from sample drawing.Second you should use simalar setting to your d.w.g and render want your high rendering output. This method is my best experience to solve autocad problem.
