I am having a problem getting my masking regions to display properly when I attempt to print in vector mode. I am using masking regions extensively to edit the boundary of my interior elevations to obscure portions of casework that I am cutting through. I am applying the regions to the individual interior elevation views.

Everything looks great in print preview mode, but fails when I print.

The only workaround I know of is to print each sheet as a rester image.

This works but is TOTALLY LAME. Does anyone know of a better way.

I too am having problems with my masking regions not masking out linework. On screen it looks fine, then when it prints, any linework that is behind the masking region shows through.

I agree that it is useless to have a masking region that does not mask properly.

Any help? I could do screen capture and then a scan of my print output to show if need be.

Thanks!

If you print it as a raster image it works ok. But it totally sucks to try and print these huge files as raster images

Is this been fixed at all in the new build or is this just something we need to live with for awhile? Maybe as things go " a long while".

By the way, it seems to mask imported AutoCAD linework but not AutoCAD text. Have others noticed that.

We want to be able to plot a set without having to plot different

Anyone hear from Autodesk with some insight to this? I am aving problems with my masking region again not masking out text. I don't want to turn off all of my generic annotation, just need to mask out a small area...print preview looks fine but with the vector printout it shows up.

Having the same problem. No solution - just sharing in the grief.

I second this!!
Its a bit of a Hit & miss for me - some masks print out correctly - others don't.

I'm not having any issues, but this could be the case.

I just wanted to bump this to the top of the list to see if anyone has stumbled across a solution yet. I am currenty having this issues on our 64 bit machines. The only successful plot driver that I have been able to get working for us is on the 64 bit is the ADOBE PDF plot driver that came with the system. I had to build in the large format sheets, but other than that it has been working great. I have been waiting for the road block to rain on my parade, and this must be it. If I print Vector the linework looks fine but the masking regions do not mask. If I print Raster, most of the linework color or no color prints halftone/grainy, but the mask regions mask as expected.

thanks,
jamie

I am also having this problem. Has anyone found a solution yet?

I noticed this problem on my CMU detail component. I found it interesting that in a repeating detail the bottom block shows correct, but all the repeats don't play by the same rules (the rules for draw order within the family). The only fix I have found for this is to replace the masking region with a solid white filled region. This way when used over a model section cut it still blocks the model components, the breakline was also an issue. Maybe this helps, or maybe this is a incorrect work around.

Thanks,
Troy
