the wipeout commad that comes with express tools is pretyy niffty, ecept when making
PDF's. even thou we have the latest driver file for our oce tds 400. When we make PDF's
the sheet looks fine on the screen, but ehen we plot the file from adobe and pick the post script file where ever the wipeout was used we ge a solid black box where there the text is supposed to be at. anybody have any clues?
Are you using the DWG to PDF.pc3 that comes with Autocad or another pdf writer. I have had problems with wipeouts and other pdf drivers, but no problems with the Autocad one.

We stopped using the wipeout command for that very reason. We now draw a polyline with a width on a layer that does not show up, like defpoints, behind the text. We call the layer mask and have it color 221 and shading to 0. Good luck.

I have found that earlier versions of Adobe Reader do not have the black box.
I haven't seen it in awhile, so maybe the latest version had a fix?

we've had similar problems using a post script driver for the XES 510, and 8825. It seems fixed although every now and then, wipeouts can be a bit buggy printing even w/ the windows drivers. Not to mention that it can be a real pain if you have a 100 sheet set and forget to turn of frames in 1 of those sheets and realize after you've already batched it all to the printer....
I prefer to use an mtext with a background mask on whenever possible.

after reading the post to my question, it sounds like it may be a bug in autocad when making a pdf and autodesk need to look into it and see if it can be fixed, or just delete it out of express tools
