Re-Rehost...

I have an issue with rehosting families with text in them, has any one else come across this problem? Basically in the attached image on the left the architect moved the wall in a little, so I have to rehost my visual only strobe light, when I rehost the device, I get the middle screen shot, which is not right. I then have to rehost the rehost and then I finally get what I'm looking for on the right. Is this a programing issue? Or is it something within my family?
Any thoughts anyone?

I observed similiar two step re-hosting for some face based families. It appears to be a quirk of the Vertical Face placement option. It appears to be willing to choose any face (layer?) in the wall.

I have gotten behavior liken this as well.

Open this family. Make sure that you are in the ref level view. Pick on the
symbol, on the options bar you will see an edit family button, select it. In
that family select the text (label) and select properties. See the check
box? Hope that helps.

i've had alot of trouble rehosting my wall devices, receptacles and light switches, etc. in that they will flip upside down, or backwards when rehosted. the annotation symbol may show correctly, (sometimes they flip too) but the modelled device box will be sticking out of the wall in a 3d view. i haven't tried multiple rehostings to see if they'll flip back to normal, i usually just delete and place a new one. which is a hassle if it's already circuited and has a lighting switchleg associated.

Yes, it's a bug in the software. It appears that the component is flipped internally while rehosting or pasting in a plan view (create similar works correctly though).

Workaround: press the Space bar to flip the instance before placing.
