View Full Version : Keynote Text Missing in Keynote Schedule

My keynote text is missing in about 3/4 of my master keynote list (and other keynote legends).

I'm using Revit 2008. Tab Delineated text file was "missing" for a while - had been relocated. I reconnected, and now text has disappeared from keynote schedules. I checked the text file - all the text is there, it's just not showing up in the schedule. I tried confirming both the phase and text fields of the schedule - apparently there's no phasing with the new keynotes? And the fields are loaded correctly. My thought is that something has been done to the text file that it can't read properly, (as with the old school keynoting method where you had to make sure the file was coded properly before it would work).

Any and all help would be useful. Thanks

I don't know anything about coding the txt file...have never heard of that. Check the obvious stuff. Is the keynote txt file pathed correctly? Check to make sure you haven't caused a problem with Filters or Sorting. I often get a question from someone having a schedule issue and they have the Sorting/Grouping set to None, which will show nothing.

Maybe I should clarify - the keynote NUMBERS show up - the field for the keynote TEXT shows blank, though there's information there. It just won' show up.

Thanks

Well, I think I narrowed in on the solution. It turns out that when you open a keynote text file in excel, you have to be very careful that excel does not remove or round your numbers for you! Many of the keynotes had number like 02310, in which excel rounded the number to 2310. Also, number that had a zero on the end were rounded from 02310.10 to 02310.1. Be careful when using excel!

Thanks for the help, folks.

Also, check to make sure the keynote txt file exported from Excel still contains the tabs to separate the fields. Revit looks for those.
