Hi -

I was wondering how most people show a tile roof in Revit. I have a presentation to do and I want to be able to show the tile on the house but not sure about modeling the roof tiles, etc.

Any tips would be great!

Thanks

I just show it with a surface pattern on a roof that is the thickness of the tile. I know some people have used a curtain system for it to actually model the tiles, but i cant justify the performance hit and added hassle for something i can generalize with a surface pattern...

Surface patterns sound fine to me. I can imagine that it will be a big performance hit trying to model all of it.

Thanks

I just hope you don't have any roofs like that

However, in case you have it, just select the arc while in sketch mode and click on its properties. From there, fill the option "Number of full segments" to a desired number of divisions you would like to have. If you don't mind your arc will have several straight edges, this will make it show the tiles.

To bump it up a notch add a roof fascia to your ridges with at barrel tile shaped profile. This really helps.
