That's right, you can't save a file to make it compatible with previous versions. It won't be able to handle some geometries, like sloped floors (only possible since RA2008 ).

Why Revit 9? Upgrade 9.0 to 2008, and get the benefit of many new features/tools.

I think gurudas.ku is working in RA2008, but can't open a RB9.0 file?

I have found that in some cases, particularly opening Revit 6 files, I have to open them incrementally.
So open the 6.0 file in 7>save
open 7.0 file in 8.1>save
open 8.1in 9.0>save
open 9.0 in 9.1 >save
open 9.1 in RA2008

It also has a warning message when trying to open early version files in the current release.
Something along the lines of a manual upgrade, and contact your reseller.

If you deleted all of your previous versions....well....start drawing the file again :beer:

The only way to save backwards is through IFC. Be warned though that will most likely end up having plenty problems with the file though.
