Lock up when saving

I am having a problem in 2002Lt saving a drawing that I receive from one person and its just that one person. Every time this person sends me a drawing and I try to save it it locks my computer up. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this would happen unless the person that is sending me the file has something wrong with his 2002Lt version? I can save the drawing with no problem in 2004Lt. When I discussed this problem with the person he said if he try's to save the drawing to a format lower then 2000 then his computer locks up. This makes me think that it is his computer that is somewhat corrupting the file. Anybody have any ideas?

Issues/Problems with random crashes are notoriously difficult to resolve due to their very nature.... hopefully Ed's little guide will help.
