DWF viewer has worked very well. I have one contact that is on MAC. DWF seems only to be for use by PC (several operating systems). Any suggestions ? Or, just tell the MAC guy to go and wait for the fax. Revit can not be used with MAC, correct?

Good news and I'll let my McClients know. Too bad it's$40.

McDwiff wouldn't open a DWF that I produced in Revit (which has also been opened and saved in Design Review). It appears that McDwiff is a Mac front end for Autodesk's Freewheel. But Freewheel, which uses a web browser to connect to Autoddesk's servers where the DWF is rendered, works fine for me with Safari on my PowerBook. No special software required. And it's free. No mark-ups though.

Here's the official site:
http://freewheel.autodesk.com/

And if you use this address you get just the viewer and can better expand the view:
http://freewheel.autodesk.com/dwf_s.aspx

Anyone know how long uploads persist on the server?

Also of note, DWF is a published format. There is nothing platform specific about DWF, just most of the software that has been developed to date. As an example ArchiCAD can output views or sheets as a DWF + web reviewer bundle that can be opened, marked-up, and returned by users of either platform, with no special software installed. It uses a web browser to launch the Java based viewer that is delivered with the bundle. Just click the link and go. It's pretty slick, if somewhat antiquated (no 3D).
