Grouped walls

I have a group that occurs on different levels. The problem is that one of the levels has a different floor to floor height and revit wants all groups to be identical. Do i need to make a family to achieve this?

The most dependable thing to do is to make two separate groups. This will cause fewer error messages.

You can also in this instance use two groups. Make one that is standard height. Make a second that is just the walls for the aditional height. Stack them up where needed.
