View Full Version : Editing curtain walls seems to be undoable

I do not seem to be able to edit the boundary of my curtainwall. I expected to be able to Edit the boundary, or change to a sketch mode, or drag the length, or something, but nothing seems to work.

The issue is that I need to make a curtainwall 2" longer than it currently is in order to get all of the dimensions to come up to 4 foot center to center spacing. Should I want to lengthen the whole thing by another 4 foot module the issue would be similar. The problem with just recreating it is that I would have to either recreate the somewhat complex mass I created in order to create the curtainwall, create the new curtainwall, then replace all the elements for the doors and such that populate the bottom two grids, all time consuming, when on the face it appears that if I could stretch the boundary, or offset it like a floor or roof outline, everything would adjust and I would be done.

I have posted a file with the curtainwall in question. Any suggestions are welcome.

When you create a curtain wall from a mass, I do not believe you can modify it's overall length. If I'm wrong I hope someone sheds some light because I've run into this problem myself.

The frustration comes from being able to create a complex boundary from a single face via the mass tools, but to not be able to edit this complex boundary, only to recreate it from scratch again should you need to change it. I ended up recreating the mass shown in the previous example in order to get what I needed. Editing of the boundary of any curtainwall, ala floors, roofs, and wall profile editing should make the wish list for sure.

A better way to accomplish this might be; create a wall, edit its profile to get the shape I want, then create a curtainwall from this.

You edit the mass, then pick the curtain wall and you'll see a remake button.

I really dont unterstand
Why dont you use "edit profile" for your curtain wall it looks very simple
you dont need a mass for this
