In our studio we have 4 pc running acad and keep files on a linux server- last week we experienced very slow performace on acad, so I went checking network connections asked by acad. I discovered that acad access the network when undoing, that seems absurd to me, while I can accept that it does it when I switch space (as I got mi stb on the network, too, and have stb preview in my paperspace).
I attach a snapshot of the net connections with descriptions of the actions that trigged the net connection.
Aniway, things are now going very bad, everithing too slow- we have to disconnect from the server and work locally - too bad!

Just thinking out loud here: When a dwg file is opened (except as read only) a temporary DWL (DWL2 in 2008 ) file is created and then deleted when the dwg file is closed. Assuming the dwg file is in a network drive I wonder if running the undo command also needs to update the DWL file and therfore needs to access the network.

Uhm - wouldn't the undo command modify the file, therefore needing to access it through the network?

Why would it modify the file? Not without a save, would it?

Where is your AutoCAD Temp folder located?
