Urgent ! Problem with Text and Viewports

i'm using Acad 2008. when in paperspace my text is not visible through the viewports. if i draw text in paper it is visable. if i "CHSPACE" it disapears. this is consistant with all layouts and viewports. all of my original text is invisible as well. i've opened other drawings and the same is happeneing to them. This tells me it's an Autcad problem or setting. i need this solved as quickly as possible. i know you guys can figure this one out.

Is the text on a layer which is turned off in the viewport? Or is the viewport set to a 3D visual style?

Can you post a dwg file as an example.

no layers are turned off or frozen in viewports or model space. the font name is stylus bt.

is the style annotative? and if so, is the annotation scale of the viewport match the annotation scale associated with the text?
