I'm saving an assembly from Pro/E (legacy) as a STEP file and then saving as a DWF. I don't want the enduser to be able to intterogate the assembly and see anything other than the outer assembly object - how do I disable the parts list, sectioning, explode or anything else that will enable someone other than the publisher to interrogate the model? I've found STEP files to be the best intermediate format to open in Inventor and then save as DWF.

Replying to my own question this is what I've found to do:

Save the ProE model as a solid step file deselecting shells
Open in Inventor and save as a .iam
Open a new .ipt file hit the return icon to get out of sketch, then scroll down and select "derived component" browse to the .iam and open it. Use the model tree which comes up to deselect parts with IP sensitivity (internal workings etc). Use hidden detail shading to see internal parts being selected. Save the .ipt. Publish the .ipt as a secure .DWF

Another way is to use copy object and sculpt though I couldn't work through this method.
