Has anyone experienced Duct Tags mysteriously moving off (I mean way off) of the duct it is associated with. I started noticing it early on in the project I am working on and now that I have more ducts with tags and starting to create section views it is now becoming more of an issue. It seems to occur even if the duct that the tag is associated with doesn't change. Please help if anyone has any solution.

Try reloading your duct tag family's with the latest from Autodesk. Your's may be corrupt.

Reloading the family hasn't corrected the issue. Has anyone else had this issue? (Besides Michael Crowhurst)

Did you get prompted to overwrite the existing family definition when you re-loaded the family definition?

I don't remember that prompt coming up. The way I reloaded the family was by File\Load From Library\Load Family. I selected the Duct Size Tag.rfa from the Imperial Library\Annotation\Mechanical. I believe this to be the correct way to load/reload a family. Please advise if that is not the correct process. Thanks.

It is the correct process as long as there's a difference in the Family Definition timestamp (last saved time). When a Family gets corrupted, often the timestamp isn't updated. If Revit doesn't think you're loading a newer version of the Family, then it doesn't actually re-load the Family.

I wrote about this in a previous thread, check it out here (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=65572).

Has anyone experienced Duct Tags mysteriously moving off...

All the time. Almost every time I edit a duct that's already been tagged the tag gets loaded in to a catapult and launched.

Which begs the question, have you reported this reproducible case to our support team? This certainly isn't how this functionality is supposed to behave, but we need to know about it to fix it.

Pipe size tags also get screwed up on piping sometimes when trying to reconnect an already tagged pipe to another section of piping. Maybe it's for similar reasons as the duct tags going haywire.

...have you reported this...

Nope, been busy at the end of the year.

BTW quit posting and go enjoy some time with your bride-to-be.

I have had the same issue, not sure why it happens or how to fix, I believe its a glitch.

try to pin the tag.
whenever you modify the duct of pipe, the tag will move off.

When you say "pin" the tag, I assume you are referring to the "push pin" that is visible when certain elements are selected. I don't have the option to do that when the Duct Size Tag is selected, all I get is the puzzle piece that allows you to make that element editable and that isn't even available on every instance of the Duct Size Tag.

I meant pin the tag, so that the tag will not move.
after you click the tag, click pin on top menu. see attachment.
