I want to use halftone plans for Elect, Mech & Struct - all within Revit Architecture. You know, have the plans there & just put simple cheesy graphics on top.

My problem is that the plan As Underlay prints out wayyyyy too light.

I've looked through all the posts & the help file. Someone, maybe David, suggested stacking two copies - that doesn't work for me. There doesn't appear to be a way to change the display settings of Underlay, either.

Is this not the intent of the As Underlay function? Am I better off duplicating the plan & changing the VG to halftone? Something else maybe?

I'm finally making my first CD set after about 4 years of modeling so am on the learning curve once again.

Sorry, underlay color is hardcoded and can't be changed.

Don t use half tone, just overide the layers of the dwg to be a dark/med grey color. To do this go to VV and select imported, then expand the layer list, select all the layers then clcik the color box and chose a color that prints well for you. You can do this at the global level using object styles or the View level with VV

Like Scott said, but it would be nice if the Halftone and Underlay setting could be controlled.

But I've learned something here:

While "As Underlay" appears to be the quick solution, by simply changing all the model display items to halftone gives me exactly what I want.
Simple, duplicate the view & change VG to halftone.

Not half-a**ed.

Fwiw, the "underlay" feature is meant for modelling coordination. It was not created for plotting/printing. That said, it would be nice if we could use it for plotting because it would be quick and "simple".
