Align & Lock Beam Face

Hi all,

Let's say I have a shaft opening in a concrete slab that I need to frame out with concrete beams. I can draw my beams, and use the align tool to match the face to edge of slab -- but there's no padlock symbol. What if I want to change the size? Do I have to go around and re-align everything?

I also figured out how to get the locking symbol to show up (setting reference planes to something other than "not a reference", but now when I lock alignment and change the size, it says constraints not satisfied.

Is there a workaround, or is it a permanent annoyance?

Hi Kate,

If you change the "Lateral Justification" parameter of the beam to either "side 1, or side 2" depending on which side you are aligning to the opening edge, you can use the align tool and lock it. If you make a change to the beam size after that it will work fine.
