Batch Plotting in MDI

Hi,

I am using Autodesk Land Enabled Map 2005. The guy I'm taking over for told me that he used to be able to use the batch process "Publish" option in MDI mode to send multiple plots to the printer here. Printer is an HP LaserJet 5000N.

For some reason the drawings are now stuck in the SDI mode. Single Document Interface does not allow you to Batch Process plotting. It says this can be fixed by going to the 'System' tab in the OPTIONS dialog but when you go there the box where you have to un-check SDI mode is greyed out.

Anyone else run into this problem? And do you know how to fix it? Thanks!

Your MAP (Land Disabled) profile (ARG) file has become
corrupted by Land Desktop.
The issue is easy to fix if you have a backup of your map.arg
file from the day you installed Land Desktop.
The solution is to NEVER issue a Land Desktop command
while in MAP, the instant you do SDI mode is set to 3 and you
can not reset it.
If you do not have your map.arg file from install send me yours
and I will attempt to cleanly reset it for you and return it to you.

It's a crazy rule you will need to remember.
It's OK to perform MAP commands in Land
but not OK to perform LAND commands in MAP

Batch Plotting MDI files is quick and painless in windows XP. Go to the folder containing your MDI files, highlight the ones you want, right click, and choose print from the popup menu. The MDI files will open, print themselves, and then close themselves respectively.
This is how I batch plot, no utilities required.

In this instance MDI represents Multiple Document Interface
also called MDE or Multiple Document Environment.
The ability to open multiple drawings in one instance of AutoCAD.
