Can someone please explain how you can get Revit to show different lineweights in elevation views. For instance I have the object styles set for particular pens but those settings tend to make everything very monotone - ie. things such as walls that are in the background appear with the same lineweight as those that are up close. Please advise....
Thank you in advance.

Clark,

In a nutshell, its done using a combination of object settings and the linework tool. It takes some experimenting to get the look you want. Hopefully this will be made easier in the future.

If you search using keywords "elevation" and "line" and "weight" you will come up with a lot of hits covering previous discussions on this topic.

If you are an ex- autocad user, think of your object styles as layers. If you explore these and examine the cut versus elevation settings you'll catch on . Note on revit city there are two tutorials posted on pen weight control.
