Welcome to the forums.
You can add a new calculated value field to your schedule.
The other alternative (although a little riskier in terms of coordination:?) is to duplicate your schedule, hide all fields except the area field and then change the formatting of the area field to display the alternate units. Then you can place the schedules side by side on the sheet.

A simple conversion field (Calculated Value) of Area in Meters, formula (Area/0.09290304 SF). The answer will be in generic numbers, but the field name qualifies the units.

For converting Area from SF to SM in a schedule just change the field format. Attached are the two steps to add this to the schedule. First create a new Calculated Value field, next change the formatting with the "field format button".
