I use Revit Structure 2008 to create analytical model. Then create *EXR file to Etabs to calculate the model and export model to ADAPT to calculate PT. After calculation, update the Revit model. I have following questions.

1.There is a questions during transfer model between Revit Structure and calculation software. How to transfer rebar that Etabs(or Adapt) calculated back to Revit model? Especially the rebar that Adapt calculated. I have no idea how to update this in Revit model. If we can not do this, Revit will be not good for us to do structure.

Waiting for your input. Thanks.

I believe you can transfer 3-D Rebar from ADAPT to Revit just like any other component (check with ADAPT on the supported elements). To import data from ADAPT into Revit (after analysis/design of the model), the workflow essentially requires you to create and export the geometry and load information as one file and the rebar information as another data file from ADAPT and then select both these files while importing back into Revit. ADAPT support team should be able to help you out with their ADAPT-Revit link if it is not working for you. I guess there is also enough information available on their website.

Hope this helps,

I did a webcast this past Tueaday that demonstrated the link between Revit Structure and ADAPT and showed how you can bring rebar information from ADAPT back into Revit Structure.

It should be available by next week on this website: http://offers.autodesk.com/7/79303/

It is free to watch,
