phase setting

how can i build a wall and have it automatically go into the right phase? currently everything we build goes into "new construction" even though we want it to be in "existing".

You have two views...
One set to Existing
One set to New

Document existing conditions in the existing view.
Demo existing and build the new stuff in the new.

Each view shows the building at a point in time... and you can cover a lot of time with a lot of phases...

We just need a few more tools like tracking the position of a chair over time and we'll have a great facility management tool.

Think about when you do your phases. Usually you copied the First Floor plan and renamed it Existing. Then you go in and change the phase to Existing. This way you can have an existing floor plan, and a new completed floor plan.

When ever you are adding something existing, you will need to go to the plan view that has the existing phase referenced to it.
