3ds Max and Vista

Just downloaded 2008 trial and have been tyring to install on Vista Ultimate machine,with no end of grief.Seems to fail at .Net framework 2 hotfix install.

Anyone else have this problem or any ideas on how to install on Vista.

dont know about vista but i have had this happen to me at random on both xp32 and xp64, not sure what is causing it
