View Full Version : Group edit - Unspecified Error

Anyone getting an error when trying to edit a group outside of the main file?
I right click the group in my project browser and click edit. Revit prompts me "Open Group X for editing?" I click "OK" and Revit spits this back to me "Unspecified Error". We have tried the exact same procedure a few days ago and there was no problem.
We tried a full restart of the computer as well as a brand new project file. We then created a simple group and we are getting the exact same error. We also tried this on other workstations with different licences and we are getting the same error.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Please either post (very) simplified file with the problem here or file case with Support. Thanks.

We have determined that this is a bug in the software and can be reproduced easily on our end. If we set the clock on the computer back to Dec. 31, 2007 no problems. As soon as the date changes to 2008 the problem occurs.
Group 4 walls and give it a shot on your end if you can!
Thanks!

I am getting the exact same problem and just posted another thread...
I am currently running RA-2008 build 20070607_1700.
I am curious if the latest builds are also malfunctioning on this feature...

Updating to build 20071109_2345 did not help us. It seems others have the same problem as posted on other threads. Anyone know if Autodesk is working on this? We use this function a decent amount...also, it is kind of scary to think about the possibility that this programming error could effect other areas of the program other than group editing and saving.
Happy New Yearevit!

It is affecting other things besides just groups, like template and/or new project creation.
Supposedly the problem goes away once we get to February, because it was caused by some code addressing Leap Year. So supposedly if your clock is set to any month other than January 2008 it won't cause the error. I haven't tried that yet, though.
Unfortunately for many in larger corporate environments, they cannot alter the date on their computer.
