View Full Version : Splitting views twice

Hello,

I am trying to organize our large floor plan onto 3 sheets. The plan is split into four portions. Sheet 1 is the top left and right, Sheet 2 is the bottom left, and Sheet 3 is the bottom right. Our structural grid bubbles and dimensions reside on the left and top sides of all plans. When I view my sheet 3 plan I can see the grid bubbles but none of my dimensions because they exist beyond the clip of the window. On all the other parts I was able to show the dimensions by splitting the view and resizing the windows to bring the dimensions within the border. On my sheet 3 plan I would have to split the window both vertically and horizontally and it appears Revit doesn't allow this. I already have all views and dependent child objects of our main floor plans. These child objects are placed on the sheet and view cropped. Has anyone else created plans in a similar way and if so how can I work around this issue?

Thanks,

Tony

Tony,

I would not be concerned about where the dimensions are placed on the ‘master’ plan view. Place dimensions on the dependent views where you need them. If they show up in other views, use ‘Hide in View’ for clean up. No need to split the view.

The only problem is that dimensions going between grid lines on either side of your match line do not show up in the child views.
