I'm trying to create an exterior elevation view for the attached condition...
Basically we have a wall that we want the elevation of, but there is a wall that comes at an angle in front of the wall. So when I place the elevation to cut close to the desired wall it is also cutting through the roof overhang, but if I move the elevation cut back to include the roof, you don't see the entire wall elevation due to the angled wall being cut.
So what I'm looking for is some sort of a solution that would work like the plan region command, only in elevation.
I guess that since this isn't "technically" accurate, Revit doesn't like you doing it.
Anybody else run into similar situations and know a good solution?

what i would do it place the elevation marker where ever you want then hide the intersecting wall in that elevation view. you will need a masking region to clean up the model once the wall has disappeared but this should give you the result that you want.

Yep, that's exactly what I would do. Simply right-click on the wall and point to Hide Elements.

The new ability to turn off individual elements, to me, is one of the most powerful features added with RAC 2008.

I'll be taking a look at this later today. But this sounds reasonable. I figured that's what I'd have to end up doing, but thought that hiding the wall would be a lot of work as it would expose all kinds of objects it was covering. I forgot about masking...
I'll let you know how it goes, and maybe post a resulting image...

Hiding the wall is extremely quick and easy. At worst case you may have to also hide that door in the wall and maybe any other equipment along the inside wall that shows when the wall goes away, depending on where exactly your elevation cut plane is located. If you can put it between the end of the roof overhang and the door, then you won't see the door when you hide the wall.

I would hide whatever is necessary, pull your elevation crop region on the left side so it's just at the end of the wall you're showing (which is the inside corner on the outside of the wall), and then use a masking region for anything else offending that shows inside your crop region.
