Non-Plotting Xrefs?

So I have this drawing. I want to print it. It has an xref.

The Xref does NOT appear on the print preview screen and does not print on paper.
is there a variable that changes an x-ref from "print" to "no print"?

Never mind. I figured out my own problem.

My Xref mysteriously set itself to a no plot layer.

And then when I tried to change it, the file corrupted and I had to run an audit and purge out $bad layer$ from the drawing.

I'm starting to really dislike AutoCAD 08 ...
