How to save a 3dview to a file

duhhhh? I know this is a stupid question but how do I save a 3dview to a file, cant see an export or save option

Go to a 3d view (not camera) zoom extents, then select file- export - your file format - then under the file name and save as type box you will see an export range box with two different pick buttons.,
current view or multiple views/sheets - Have at it.

Sorry reread you post had it wrong. The same scenario applies to a 3dview, I'm thinking its a 2d Export though for Acad dwgs from a camera view. You can also just select export image from the file pull down for jpgs etc.
