We are receiving an error message when we are trying to copy/monitor rooms between the MEP revit and Architectural Revit.

The message is 'No Rooms could be copied. Check that the Options have Phases configured and that the levels in the Linked File are Monitored'

Our process is as follows:
The architectural model is linked in
Copy / monitor option is selected
Select linked file for copy / monitor
Menu opens up
Go to options
Adjust parameter and phase options.

All the walls and floors can be selected and can be copied and monitored without a problem but we cannot copy/monitor the rooms.

It is a one level project with no phases.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Looks like you missed copy/monitoring the level. Rooms need a level to reside on.

What we prefer to do is after linking the model, go to an elevation view and compare the level names, rename our level to match theirs exactly. Then go to the copy monitor options again and on the levels tab check box for reuse levels with same name->reuse if elements match exactly, and copy the level you want.

We prefer to reuse the level because that way our level views can somewhat be setup in advance in our project template.

Thanks that helped me too!

I'm having the same problem but still having no luck. I copied over the levels & I set the parameters & phases properly.
Is there some sort of setting in the central file that could prevent me from copying rooms?
I've copied rooms before successfully but doing the same thing with this new project is not working.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Have you actually created an elevation view and tried to copy/monitor the level?

Yes, I went to the elevation view, clicked copy/monitor, options, then set it up how I wanted the levels copied, clicked copy & clicked each level. I believe they are copied because when I mouse over the level lines in the elevation view, they highlight and the little eye appears when the lines are clicked.
I also set the parameters & phases under the rooms tab in copy/monitor, options.
Like I said, I've done it before but for some reason it's not working.

The Architect set up 55 different rooms (every space is accounted for) in the central file & I can perform the IES Loads calculation without error in the central file.

I'm totally out of ideas.

If you're interested, someone posted an early concept picture here (half way down the page):

Update: Problem solved.

The Architect defined intermediate levels in a seperate workset for the new construction portion of the project. They were adding a couple of inches of concrete to parts of the existing uneven floor to make it level, so they defined a new set of levels in the 'new construction' phase. The rooms were defined resident to the intermediate levels. These levels were not visible in the linked file. I had to go into the central architectural file & redefine the workset of that level to match the standard levels & phase information. Only then could I see the intermediate levels that the rooms were resident on. I copy/monitored the intermediate levels in my MEP file and then was able to copy the rooms over.
